Model X3 is based on the Tera NextPM sensor. It brings particle and ambient-condition measurements together for people planning an air quality monitoring installation.
For more reliable PM readings in humid environments, the NextPM automatically regulates its built-in inlet heater when relative humidity inside the sensor rises above 60%. Moisture can make airborne particles grow and scatter more light, causing optical sensors to report too much PM—an effect that becomes especially pronounced above 80% RH. By drying the sampled air and particles, the heater reduces this overreading, though humidity can still affect results. Learn how Tera tested humidity regulation.
